International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin: Ghana, the Black Star on the rise

This year’s International Tourism Exchange (ITB) Berlin, has just ended. Dubbed by the organizers as the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show. The fair was attended this year by a total of 10,000 companies and organisations from 186 countries who exhibited their products and services to around 170,000 visitors, including 110.000 trade visitors.

Ghana, the small but beautiful West African country was represented by a strong delegation led by Dr Ziblim Barri Iddi, the energetic Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture. Other members oft he Ghanaian delegation include officials from the Ghana Tourism Authority as well as private tour operators.

The minister had a series of high-level meetings with leading tourism officials from countries hoping to partner Ghana in developing and upgrading its unspoilt tourist attractions. What was striking among observers at the fair was the minister’s readiness and willingness to interact with all manner of visitor’s to the Ghana pavilion at the ITB Berlin 2018.

‘‘The officials at the Ghana stand is a symbol of Ghana, very friendly and very patient to explain everything into details than what you could read from a book,“ says a couple from the German city of Freiburg.

Ghana’s diversity and wide range of tourist attarcations is what attracts visitor’s to the country The country’s presentation at the fair was well received by visitors to its stand. This was clear from the many conversations and reactions from visitors that the ANA-ZongoNews TV & Radio received.
