ALLOW THE LAW TO WORK ON THE E.C. BOSS IMPEACHMENT ISSUES – APC ASPIRING CHAIRMAN TELLS CRITICS

The Ashanti Regional aspiring chairman for All People Congress ( APC ) has asked all political critics, particularly the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to refrain from a deliberate attempt to create tension over the Electoral Commissioner impeachment saga and allow the laws of the nation to work.

Dr. Kasim Ahmed Sisago who has openly declared his intention to context the chairmanship position of the party in the Ashanti Region said the impeachment process of the Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Charlotte Osei and her two deputies; Mr Amadu Sulley and Mrs Georgina Opoku Amankwaa should be giving free and fair treatment in order to protect the integrity of the electoral commission.

Dr. Kasim also believed that, President, Nana Akufo Addo, Chief Justice, Sophiah Akufo and the Attorney General, Gloria Akufo, have not been fair to the EC boss for denying her the right to know the petitioners and a copy of the petition to enable her file her defence.

He said the Chief Justice based on the petition filed against the EC boss established a prima facia case and has according to the law set up a committee to look into the matter for the necessary legal action and so herefore any move to politicize the process is baseless and should be thrown into the bin.

He added that, the three commissioners based on their own allegations and counter allegations alone serve enough grounds for impeachment and that there is no more need for delay in giving justice.

” I suggest, it’s a quite better time for the E.C. boss Mrs. Charlotte Osei and her two deputies, Mr. Amadu Sulley and Mrs. Georgina Opoku Amankwaa should step down peacefully than to wait to be forceful moved out from office due to their misconducts and corruption allegations labeled against them. Although, I’m not judging here yet my suggesting stands “. He cried out.
